Telangana ministers indecisive on whether to resume duties
Cabinet Ministers from Telangana region, who had resigned from Andhra Pradesh Assembly over the statehood issue, remained indecisive on whether or not to return to their official duties even as Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy sought to prevail upon them asking them to get back to work from on Monday.
While some of the 12 ministers, whose resignation from the membership of the state Assembly was rejected by the Speaker last week, were said to be keen on resuming duties after staying away for close to a month, the others were adamant on skipping work.
A meeting convened by the Chief Minister with the Telangana ministers at his camp office late tonight ended without any result as the latter remained non-committal.
The ministers, on the other hand, requested the Chief Minister to talk to the party high command to hasten up the consultation process and ensure that a decision was taken early on the statehood issue.
"We also explained our predicament in resuming duties and the troubles we will be facing from people in the region," a minister said after the meeting.
