TDP serves notice to move no-confidence motion against AP govt
Main Opposition Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh today gave a notice of a no-confidence motion against N. Kiran Kumar Reddy-led Congress government for its 'failure' in addressing problems of farmers.
"This government is not able to purchase paddy, cotton and tobacco from farmers and give them minimum support price. They are not even able to provide space to store the produce. The government has lost the confidence of people," leader of the party N. Chandrababu Naidu told reporters here.
"The people are suffering and we, as opposition party, have been agitating on these issues. No-confidence motion is the weapon for opposition, he said.
The TDP MLAs have given a notice to move a no-trust motion against the state government to Assembly Secretary and sought convening of the House to discuss the farmers' issue. TDP has 90 MLAs in the 294-member Assembly. Maintaining that the TDP is not hankering for power, Naidu said the party would come to power whenever people wanted.
Replying to a query, Naidu said it is for other opposition parties to decide their stance on the TDP-sponsored no-trust motion. TDP serves notice to move no-confidence motion against AP govt
