TD never blocked Telangana: Naidu
Telugu Desam president Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said that his party was not opposed to Telangana and challenged the Congress-led UPA government to convene an all-party meeting immediately so that the party could convey its decision.
“The ruling Congress has the power to grant Telangana but it is indulging in a drama for political gain. Why are they not taking a decision? Telugu Desam will come clear on Telangana if the UPA government convenes an all-party meeting,” Naidu said on Monday while addressing a public meeting at Rajoli village in Telangana’s Mahbubnagar district.
Naidu entered Telangana as part of his Vastunna Meekosam padayatra rather painlessly after protesting T- leaders were arrested across Mahbubnagar.
“TD is not opposed to Telangana. The Congress should stop petty politics and convene an all-party meeting to sort out the issue across the table. I have said repeatedly that I am not against Telangana,” Naidu told the gathering amid thunderous applause.
He was accompanied by his son, Lokesh. He also asked TRS and TJAC to stop criticising Telugu Desam and to instead bring pressure on the Congress.
