Tatra’s Kovai link under CBI scanner
CBI sleuths on Thursday conducted searches at the house and office of C.N Srivatsan, director, Astral Consultants, Coimbatore, in connection with the on-going probe in the alleged irregularities in the procurement of around 6,000 Tatra trucks for the Indian Army, CBI sources said.
Astral Consultants claimed to be specialist in management advisory system and information management. Its client list prominently displays BEML name along with many other famous brands in the country.
The CBI had also registered case against V.R.S. Natarajan, chairman and managing director BEML, Bangalore, and conducted searches in the premises belonging to him as well.
The CBI had registered cases against the two under the Sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. “It is alleged that the accused persons were parties to a criminal conspiracy to cheat BEML in the matter of award of different works relating to the implementation of Enterprises Resource Planning Project in BEML,” said a CBI communiqué.
