Tableau incident: Cong seeks suspension of Dewas Collector, SP
Congress MP Sajjan Singh Verma today demanded suspension of Dewas Collector and SP for their alleged negligence in the incident of a small boy shown bathing under a cold water tap despite the winter chill at the district Municipal Corporation's tableau during the Republic Day function on Thursday.
The boy was made to stand under the tap at the tableau to prove numerous steps being taken by the civic body for solving the water crisis in the city despite severe chill, sources said.
When the spectators saw that the boy was shivering because of continuous flow of cold water, the attention of the concerned authorities was drawn following which he was removed from the spot and given warm clothes, they said.
"This is a glaring example (of) inhuman attitude of the authorities and we demand resignation of District Collector and SP in this regard," Verma said.
The MP from Dewas also alleged that while the officials attending the function kept themselves warm, they failed to realise that the little boy standing under the cold water tap was also a normal human being and was shivering.
He further alleged that instead of being sensitive towards such incident, the officials were 'enjoying' that the boy was taking a bath in cold.
