Swiss woman marries Hindu priest in Khandwa
A Swiss woman married a Hindu priest at Arya Samaj Temple in Khandwa district on Sunday morning.
The marriage rituals were performed with Hindu traditions amidst chanting of Vedic mantras.
The bride Silviya Rabnann, 33, daughter of Hans Peter Rabnann, was on a travel visa to India to visit historical and religious pilgrimages and during her travel she came to Omkareshwar where she met Pawan Das Maharaj, 39, of Hans Kutir, an ashram on Parikrama marg and was so impressed that she became his disciple.
She urged him to accompany her to religious places in India and during the tour love blossomed between them.
Silviya told PTI that she had a lot of love and respect for India and its traditions, which is a reason for her choosing this country for her travels.
She said that she has embraced Hinduism and will try to go deep into the religion and learn its ethos.
