Suspension of MLAs who beat up cop may be revoked

Suspension of the five legislators, who were found guilty of beating up SI Sachin Suryavanshi in the Vidhan Bhavan premises, might be revoked in the coming week.

The Opposition on Thursday demanded that as the officer in question has also resumed duty, the suspension of the MLAs from the Legislative Assembly should also be revoked. Speaker Dilip Walse Patil, however, said that though the House took the decision to suspend the legislators, it is now up to the government and the Opp-osition to take the call on recalling the suspension.
As the proceedings of the House started in the morning, Leader of Opposition Eknath Khadse raised the issue.
