Sushma says no rift, blames it on Twitter
A day after she expressed views contrary to those of her party, the BJP, on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s statement on the CVC appointment issue, senior BJP leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj claimed there was no rift in the party over the issue.
On Friday, Ms Swaraj had said she appreciated the Prime Minister’s statement and the matter should be allowed to rest, but her party had said the Prime Minister needed to explain further.
“There is no difference within the party and between me and Jaitley on the issue. The demands he made, the PM had already spoken about it, that he will give a statement in Parliament (sic).” Ms Swaraj said she had responded to the Prime Minister’s statement on a microblogging website which has a word limit. “That is why I did not put it on Twitter... There is a constraint in Twitter that you have to say things in 140 characters. So I did not put it on Twitter,” Ms Swaraj said.
“Newspapers have tried to show differences between me and Jaitley. The only difference is that he demanded a statement from the PM in Parliament,” she said.

NEW DELHI
March 5: Union finance minister Pranab Mukherjee has assured that “appropriate action” will be taken against Pune stud farmer owner Hasan Ali. He has further said that the government has taken note of the observations made by the Supreme Court regarding black money.
The FM was responding to a reporter’s question on whether the government is considering any action against Ali. on the sidelines of a CII event in New Delhi on Saturday. Ali is charged with stashing away huge amounts of black money in tax havens abroad and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) issued a “Look Out Circular” on Friday for all airports to prevent Khan from fleeing the country.
The Centre was slammed by the SC earlier this week which had asked “What the hell is going on” with regard to black money. It had also asked why Khan was not being subjected to custodial interrogation. Khan is charged with having stashed away in Swiss banks a whopping eight billion dollars.
