Sushma gets a lot of flak after dancing at Rajghat

Ms Sushma Swaraj, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, appears to be under fire from several quarters, including her own party, after she broke into an impromptu post-midnight jig during the party’s 24-hour satyagraha at Rajghat which had started on Sunday evening.

Senior BJP leaders felt her swaying to the beat at Mahatma Gandhi’s samadhi while the party was protesting against the police action against Baba Ramdev “not merely affected the seriousness of the situation, but also gave Congress (a handle) to ridicule the party”. Ms Swaraj, however, called it a “patriotic dance”.
The Congress demanded her resignation and said she should explain to the country why she was dancing at Rajghat, calling it an insult to the memory of Gandhi.
