‘Suhail was used as a go-between’

BJP functionary Suhail Hindustani allegedly was used by Sanjeev Saxena, former aide of Mr Amar Singh, to act as go-between the three BJP MPs — Faggan Singh Kulaste, Ashok Argal and Mahavir Bhagora.

These three MPs were offered cash for abstaining from voting during the crucial floor test in Lok Sabha in July 2008. Incidentally, Sanjeev Saxena has already been arrested by the police. The sources said Sudheendra Kulkarni may too be called up for questioning. Call records of a number of politicians are also being checked to unearth the conspiracy.
The crime branch said it has sought permission from the home ministry to question Mr Amar Singh, who has allegedly been named by Saxena for providing him `1 crore cash to offer to the three BJP MPs.
Expelled SP leader Amar Singh, has however, denied the charges. The crime branch sleuths are also trying to track the source of money which was offered to the BJP MPs.
