Students were forced to hold him
Five-year-old Anjaneya Reddy's mother, Ganga Maheswari said, “The teacher, without ascertaining the facts, forced my son to drink urine. When my boy resisted, she asked the students to hold his hands while she held him by his neck and forced him to drink. We demand the teacher be punished for such a heinous act.“
Anjaneya said, “When I refused to drink it, the teacher threatened to beat me and forced me to
drink it.“ When Anjaneya's parents went to the school on Thursday, the management informed them
that the teacher was on leave. School's correspondent M. Anantha Satyanarayana Reddy denied the
incident outright.
District education officer K.V. Srinivasulu Reddy directed the local mandal education officer
Somi Reddy to conduct an inquiry and submit a report. “Based on preliminary findings, we have
instructed the school management to remove the teacher from the school immediately. We also
issued a warning to the management to take steps to avoid recurrence of such heinous acts.“
Ramachandrapuram DSP S. Srinivas said, “We have received a complaint from the boy's parents and
we are inquiring into the incident. Based on the findings, we will book a case under the
Juvenile Justice Act Section 23.“
The AP Balala Hakkula Sangham has filed a petition with the SHRC which ordered an inquiry and
recommended action against the guilty teacher and the school.
