Student’s body without head found

The body of an engineering student with head severed was found on the roadside near Kothamangalam on Thursday morning.

The youth was Christopher Antony, 22, of Changanassery in Kottayam.

Christopher was a final year Mechanical Engineering student at the Kothamangalam MA College.

From preliminary investigations, it is believed that Christopher was hit by an unknown vehicle on Wednesday night while he was returning to the hostel at Thankalam along with his friend on a bike. n

Christopher was riding pillion. The youth had his head and legs severely injured in the mishap. However, mysteriously, his friend Sanju, the bike rider, left Christopher by the road side and returned to his room.

The news about the youth’s death was informed to the police by the local people in the morning. According to police, Christopher and Sanju who finished their examinations on Wednesday, were partying outside till midnight.

The two returned to their hostel in a bike at 2 am when an unknown vehicle hit them.
