Stir will continue: High Court told
Hyderabad: The AP NGOs Association and Seemandhra Secretariat Employees Forum (SSEF) on Saturday informed the AP High Court that they would continue the strike as there was no assurance to them that the state would be kept united.
While hearing the petitions seeking declaration of the ongoing strike by the APNGOs and Seemandhra Secretariat Forum as illegal, a division bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice K.C. Bhanu recorded the above statement.
Advancing the arguments on behalf of Seemandhra Secretariat Employees Forum, senior counsel A. Satya Prasad said that his client has decided not to withdraw the strike on the ground that the Central government has failed to invite the agitating employees’ association for negotiations to clear the latter’s apprehensions on the contentious issue.
Justice Sengupta asked C.V. Mohan Reddy, counsel for the APNGOs, to tell about the stand taken by his client. Reddy, after seeking opinion of APNGOs president P. Ashok Babu, who was in court, submitted that the APNGOs have decided to continue the strike.
