Stalin dares cops to arrest him
The land grab and intimidation case against M.K. Stalin took a new twist on Friday, with the DMK treasurer going to the DGP’s office and daring police to arrest him.
He also asked police to register an FIR against chief minister Jayalalithaa in connection with the Siruthavur and Kodanad estate land disputes.
Accompanied by a posse of senior lawyers, Mr Stalin made a surprise visit to the DGP’s office. He submitted two petitions to ADGP (administration) T.K. Rajendran since DGP K. Ramanujam was away.
Chennai city police had registered an FIR against Mr Stalin, his film producer son Udhayanidhi and four others on Thursday on a complaint of forced sale of property adjacent to his residence in Teynampet.
Mr Stalin told reporters it was a baseless complaint and the FIR had been registered to settle political scores.
“I have no connection with the case whatsoever. My son entered into a rental agreement with the present owner of the property for his production company,” he said.
Mr Stalin said AIADMK rulers were misusing poli-ce to malign DMK and dismissed the FIR as ‘fraud information report’.
He also demanded action against the complainant.
