SRK brings baby AbRam home
Shah Rukh Khan broke his silence on his surrogate child for the first time on Tuesday and released a press statement. The child has been christened “AbRam” and the actor has confirmed that the baby is finally home. In another related development, the BMC, which had started investigations on whether a sex determination test was conducted by the Khans, has given the actor a clean chit.
“Amidst all the noise that has been going around, the sweetest is the one made by our newborn baby, AbRam. He was born prematurely by several months but has finally come home. Gauri and our whole family have been dealing with his health issues for a long time now,” read the statement, adding that it was unfortunate that he had to clarify so many aspects with regard to his new-born baby. “Wish it were just a simple message of happiness on behalf of the family,” the statement said.
The civic body last week received a detailed reply from the Khan’s secretary Karuna Badwal that listed the sequence of events surrounding the birth of the surrogate child. “The reply from Shah Rukh Khan’s secretary is elaborate and enumerates every detail of the surrogate child. The report very assertively states that there has no violation of Pre-Conception Pre Natal Diagnostic Technique (PCPNDT) Act,” additional municipal commissioner Manisha Mhaiskar said, adding, “We have prepared a report on the inquiry conducted by us in the whole matter and we will be submitting the report to the state health department. From our end we deem the matter concluded, however, it is subjected to remarks from the state (sic).”
The report also emphatically points out that the controversy surrounding the sex determination of the child broke out much after the child was born. According to the birth report, which was submitted to the K-Ward office of the BMC in June 13, the child was born on May 27 at Masarani Hospital in Andheri.
