Special courts for Bihar SC/ST cases

With Bihar witnessing a spurt in crimes against dalits and the minority tribals in recent years, the Nitish Kumar government is readying to set up special courts in five districts to ensure speedy hearing and disposal of cases related to the SC and ST communities.

After setting up a special police station for crimes against members of the SC and ST communities in each of Bihar’s 38 districts last year, this is the second major step initiated by the state government to ensure these marginalised communities enjoy their full democratic rights.
