SP holds BJP responsible for Muzaffarnagar violence
In political blame game over the Muzaffarnagar communal flare-up, Samajwadi Party Wednesday held BJP responsible for it, alleging that a fake video shot outside the country was uploaded on a social networking site by a BJP MLA which sparked off the clashes in the district.
Under attack over the violence, party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav said that some political parties were trying to take advantage of the situation in Muzaffarnagar and adjoining areas and trying to worsen it.
“If we do not remain alert then such incidents will be repeated, because some people on whom the people of Uttar Pradesh did not repose trust will try to take advantage,” Yadav said.
“We will not let this happen irrespective of the biggest sacrifice we need to make,” Yadav said in his presidential address at the two-day party National Executive meeting being held here.
Holding BJP responsible for Muzaffarnagar clashes, SP national general secretary Ramgopal Yadav said that a fake video shot outside the country was uploaded on a social networking site by a BJP MLA which sparked off the violence.
Alleging that BJP could spread communalism ahead of Lok Sabha polls, Yadav told reporters here, “There was a need to remain alert about the nefarious designs of the saffron brigade.”
UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has said a “political conspiracy” was behind the riots which were aimed at destabilising his government while rivals BJP, BSP and RLD have accused SP of trying to advance its political interests by polarising voters. They demanded imposition of central rule in the state.
