Soz likely to stay as J&K Cong committee chief
The incumbent Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee president Prof Saifuddin Soz in all probability will retain his post for yet another term.
However, for the post of J&K incharge affairs, which is soon going to be vacant as the incumbent Prithvi Raj Chavan has already taken over as Maharashtra chief minister following sudden turn of events vis-à-vis Adarsh Society scam, the speculations about the possible names have started doing rounds in the Congress circle.
No wonder the lobbying to bring in “own man” at the prestigious post, which is capable to tilt the power fulcrum, has already started both at the Centre and at the state level.
Need less to mention that the speculations are intrinsic to sway opinions. It’s the factionalism in the state Congress unit that is adding (and will add) zing to the lobbying patterns for the plain reason that J&K incharge, for sure, influences power equations within the state as well as at the Centre.
As of now, the names of AICC general secretaries Digvijay Singh, Janardan Dwivedi, Satyavrat Chaturvedi and Union minister for information and broadcasting Ambika Soni are doing rounds for the post.
