Southwest Monsoon sets in over Kerala

The southwest monsoon set in over Kerala and Lakshadw-eep Saturday, according to the Met department. According to the IMD bulletin declaring the onset of the monsoon, conditions are favourable for it to advance in the next two days, bringing fairly good rain to the region.

Sources said the monsoon’s onset this year matched the forecast of its arrival in Kerala and Lakshadweep by June 1.
