Sonia Gandhi begins two-day Rae Bareli visit

Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Friday began a two-day tour of her parliamentary constituency Rae Bareli to inaugurate a slew of developmental projects, an official said here.

After landing at the Lucknow airport, Ms Gandhi left by road for Rae Bareli, where she inaugurated a community centre at Lalganj town. She will also inaugurate a guest house set up by the tourism department in Dalmau and take part in the foundation laying ceremony of a sports complex at the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya,

Congress spokesperson in Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Pratap Singh told reporters. Ms Gandhi might also interact with locals to know the status of the central government sponsored schemes.
