Sonia blasts opposition for targeting PM
Congress president Mrs Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday described as "shameful" the Opposition attack on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over the 2G spectrum row and warned it would learn a lesson.
"It is shameful that a person of integrity like the Prime Minister should be targeted in this manner," Mrs Gandhi told reporters at her residence.
"Everyone knows he is 100 per cent above board, everyone knows what kind of a person, an individual he is..." She recalled the way Dr Singh had been similarly targeted during the 2004 Lok Sabha election.
"You all will remember how he was attacked in 2004. They lost, the Prime Minister won. That should be a lesson for everyone."
