Sibal: Such BJP arrogance

Union telecom minister Kapil Sibal on Monday slammed the BJP for rejecting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s offer to appear before Parliament’s Public Accounts Commi-ttee (PAC) in connection with 2G spectrum allocation. The telecom minister stated that the arrogance shown by the Leader of the Opposition was unacceptable.

“I am surprised at the BJP’s intemperate reaction on the PM’s offer. I don’t think any Prime Minister in India’s history has been so up-front. The BJP is immodest even in its numerous failures,” Mr Sibal stated.
“No Opposition leader should speak with such arrogance. The Prime Minister has offered to go before the committee despite the pure politics BJP is playing. Doesn’t the BJP have any faith in the PAC headed by its own leader,” he added.
He was reacting to the BJP’s rejection of Dr Singh’s offer. BJP leader Arun Jaitley had alleged that the Prime Minister can’t answer the questions before a auditor or PAC. “It is a JPC which must look into all these issues. The Prime Minister is hiding something,” the BJP leader had alleged.
