Sibal: Cong not party in Shah case
Union human resources development minister Kapil Sibal on Sunday denied that said the Congress was pressuring the CBI to initiate action against former Gujarat minister Amit Shah, an accused in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case. “It is the CBI that has chargesheeted Amit Shah and the Congress has nothing to do with it. The CBI has named Shah as an accused so he should follow the legal course and tell the court whatever he has to say,” the minister told reporters.
Mr Shah had resigned from his ministerial post on Saturday. On the issue of the BJP giving a clean chit to Amit Shah, Mr Sibal said that every BJP leader in the country was doing the same. “But it is up to the court to give him a clean chit and that is what matters,” he added.
