Shunglu panel lists 2,100 names
The high-level Shunglu Committee (HLC), headed by former Comptroller-and-Auditor-General (CAG) V.K. Shunglu, appointed by the government to look into the allegations of corruption in the Commonwealth Games 2010 in Delhi, on Friday put out the list of 2,100 persons appointed by the Organising Committee and sought more information on these individuals.
The move comes in the wake of several representations and complaints received by the committee saying that many people who were appointed by the OC did not have the requisite qualifications for the jobs given to them or were hired because of their proximity with certain OC members.
“The high-level committee has received complaints to the effect that a large number of candidates who were not qualified were appointed against various posts in the Organising Committee of the Commonwealth Games, 2010,” the committee said.
