Shoaib in court over invite sales

Islamabad, April 27: A Pakistani court has summoned cricketer Shoaib Malik on charges of “fraud and swindling” for selling invitation cards of his wedding reception in his hometown, Sialkot, recently.

Lahore additional sessions judge Mohammad Rafiq summoned Shoaib to appear on May 3 to explain his position.
A citizen, Safdar Ali, filed a petition in the sessions court levelling the charge that Shoaib and Sania Mirza had hurt the feelings of their fans by selling invitations to their wedding reception for sums ranging from (Pakistani) Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000. The judge then issued the summons to Shoaib, a court official said.          The court also issued notice to Lahore police chief Pervez Rathore.
