BJP MLA from Bhopal Dhruv Narayan Singh on Wednesday appeared before the CBI for the lie-detection test in connection with the murder of RTI activist Shehla Masood, even as the two prime accused architect Zahida Parvez and her friend Saba Farooqui refused to give their consent for it.

Singh arrived at the Central Forensic Science Laboratory with the CBI for his polygraph test at around 11 am, agency sources said.

They said the questioning is likely to hover around his purported relations with victim Shehla Masood and accused Parvez, besides if he was aware of murder plan allegedly hatched by the latter and whether he came to know about it after the execution.

The sources said a detailed questionnaire covering these broad topics has been prepared by the experts.

During the probe, the CBI has found that Parvez had 'very close relations' with the MLA, to the extent of obsession, and resented his closeness with Masood, they said.

From her diary, the sleuths had come to know of several instances where Parvez had noted down her sentiments for Singh and growing resentment for Masood, the sources said.

While analysing call details of Masood and her friend Farooqui, sleuths came across some calls made purportedly to a close aide of Singh soon after Masood was murdered on August 16 outside her house in Koh-e-Fiza locality in Bhopal.

Singh had given his consent to undergo polygraph test last week before special CBI court in Indore which had then given the agency a go ahead.

Meanwhile, Farooqui and Parvez even after giving consent before the court had backtracked and refused to undergo polygraph test on Tuesday also.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
