Sharif envoy: desire to boost ties with india
The thaw in Indo-Pak ties continues with Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s special envoy Shaharyar M. Khan meeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday and conveying his government’s “sincere desire to move forward on improving relations with India.”
The meeting comes close on the heels of bilateral discussions that external affairs minister Salman Khurshid had with the Pak PM’s special advisor on foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz on the margins of the Asean Regional Forum (ARF) meeting in Brunie recently.
Mr Khan also delivered a letter from Mr Sharif conveying expressions of goodwill and good wishes for the PM, the government and the people of India, said a statement isued by the Pakistan high commission here.
The letter also expressed Pakistan’s “sincere desire to move forward on improving relations with India.”
