Scindia launches MP campaign

Union minister and chairman Madhya Pradesh Congress campaign committee Jyotiraditya Scindia on Monday launched the Congress party’s campaign for the coming state Assembly election by declaring a full-throated attack on the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led state Bharatiya Janata Party government at a huge public rally at this district headquarters, which happens to be the parliamentary constituency of leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj.

Addressing the public at Madhavganj here Mr Scindia, without naming three BJP leaders, who have successively been representing Vidisha in Parliament, said that one of them (Mr Atal Behari Vajpayee) became Prime Minister, another (Mr Chouhan) became the state chief minister and the third (Ms Swaraj) is now the leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha but the Vidisha constituency has continued to remain backward and it is a nightmare for the public to drive on the potholed roads in this area.
Prominent among other Congress leaders, who also addressed the rally, were Congress general secretaries Digvijay Singh and Mohan Prakash, Union minister Kamal Nath, state Congress chief Kantilal Bhuria, senior Congress leader Satyavrat Charturvedi and leader of Opposition in State Assembly Ajay Singh.
