School hires ghostbuster to avoid ‘spirit’
In a bizarre development, authorities of a government-run school in a Chhattisgarh village “hired” witches to free the “haunted” school building of “ghosts”, official sources said on Wednesday.
The incident took place in the village of Bhatgaon under Mahasamund district on Monday.
The authorities were forced to resort to the superstitious practice after the school witnessed a series of strange incidents in which children fell sick and exhibited abnormal behaviours , sources said.
Rumours went round that the school was haunted by “spirits” which were casting evil spells on the kids.
“We have received the reports that some students suddenly fell unconscious when their class was in progress. Many students have started skipping their classes following the rumours. We have asked the authorities concerned to convince the parents of the students to send their wards to the school,” district education officer T.K.Sahu told this newspaper.
