SC approves single MBBS entrance test

Disregarding the ongoing tussle between the health and HRD ministries on a single entrance test each for MBBS and postgraduate medical admissions across the country, the Supreme Court on Monday permitted the Medical Council of India to implement this plan from the 2011-12 academic session.
A bench of Justices R.V. Raveendran and A.K. Patnaik said the MCI could enforce its orders as two notifications had already been issued.
