Saradha CMD panics as disks found
Arrested Saradha Group CMD Sudipta Sen, who had remained unfazed and cool during interrogation for nearly a week, on Friday looked shattered before his interrogators after the detective department (DD) of the Bidhannagar city police recovered 15 property-related documents of his chit fund empire.
According to sources, the drastic change in his demeanour became evident on Thursday evening after the investigating sleuths seized five or six sacks of documents, including computer hard disks, from his company’s office at Midland Park.
“When he was informed by senior officers in the evening that they had taken Debjani Mukherjee to the corporate office and had seized vital materials with her active cooperation, he suddenly went pale,” sources said.
In the night, he took dinner after persistent persuasion from the officers. He remained awake the whole night,” sources further added.
[Meanwhile, according to PTI, the Bengal government Friday opposed a prayer for CBI investigation into the multi-crore chit fund scam, claiming in an affidavit to the Calcutta high court that at this stage credibility of the investigation by the state police cannot be doubted.]
