Sadhu Yadav expelled from Cong for praising Gujarat CM
Bihar Congress leader and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s estranged brother-in-law Sadhu Yadav was on Monday expelled from the Congress for meeting and praising the BJP’s prospective prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in Gandhinagar.
“Sadhu Yadav has been expelled from the party for an indefinite period,” said Bihar Congress president Ashok Chaudhary. The expulsion decision, he said, was taken by the Congress’s Gopalganj district unit president Raj Kumari Gupta after Yadav failed to reply to the show-cause notice issued to him.
The expulsion suddenly left Yadav, whose real name is Anirudh Prasad Yadav, in political wilderness as the BJP made it clear that there was “absolutely no possibility” of inducting the former RJD parliamentarian. Yadav, a controversial figure in Bihar politics, had quit the RJD just before the 2009 Lok Sabha polls for being denied a party ticket.
Formerly a Rajya Sabha member, he contested the 2009 LS polls in Bettiah constituency on a Congress ticket and lost.
