Replying to questions about the BJP’s strong criticism of AICC general secretary Shakeel Ahmed’s remarks on IM, AICC spokesperson Meem Afzal said, “What does terrorism mean other than killing the innocents and harming them.

I am not saying any new thing about what the BJP did. Media has also been saying it.” He also termed the riots in Gujarat as “state-sponsored terrorism”.
Maintaining that the ministry’s official position on IM is very clear, he said, like 34 other organisations, it has also been declared as banned. “What the home ministry thinks on the IM, it is there in our website. Under UAPA, these are all banned organisations. Our position is very clear. The home ministry is not tweeting on these kind of things,” the minister said.
