Rickshawpuller dares attackers with a brick

A brave young boy Salim, who is a rickshawpuller, turned out to be the hero of the day, when people ran for cover as the gunmen clad in rain cloths and wearing helmets opened fire in the Jama Masjid area on Sunday.
This youth was the lone brave heart to face the motorcycle-borne shooters on the rainy Sunday morning. He not only chased them but also pelted a brick at the motorcyclists.
He later claimed to reporters that he saw the bikers firing at the tourist bus carrying Tiwanese nationals. Recalling the incident, Salim told reporters that he was ferrying passengers when he saw “two fair-skinned and tall men firing at the bus”.
“As soon as they reached the bus, they started shooting. I got down from the rickshaw and threw a brick at them which even hit one of them. However, they managed to flee away,” Salim said. Giving descriptions of the attackers, Salim recalled that “one of them was wearing a green T-shirt while the other was wearing a black jacket”.
Salim was later taken to the Jama Masjid police station where the police recorded the eyewitness account of the incident.
He also accompanied Shahi Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari, who visited the spot and then the LNJP hospital where he met the injured foreign nationals. Salim enthusiastically shared his experience with a posse of media present in the Jama Masjid area.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
