Retd army officer beaten to death

A retired army officer was today beaten to death and his brother and son injured by some persons in Gopalpur Padari village, near here, police said.

Triloki Chaudhary (60), a retired colonel, was killed and his brother Tribhuvan and son Sunil were injured after being assaulted by some persons in the village, Deputy Superintendent of Police Siddharth said.

Tribhuvan has been admitted in Varanasi where his condition was stated to be serious, he said, adding two persons, including a lawyer, have been detained in this connection.
