Reshuffle: DMK, Trinamool ignored as PM announces cabinet

It was a day of major changes, some most unexpected, as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh announced a new team of people to lead the country.

Both DMK and Trinamool Congress ended up with no new berths after Kapil Sibal kept telecom - he will also run the HRD ministry.

Another major change was Praful Patel losing aviation and landing Heavy Industries. He has been promoted to Cabinet rank. Others to get elebvated along with Patel are S.P Jaiswal and Salman Karshid.

Losing out was M.S Gill, who is stripped of the scam-hit Sports ministry. He gets statistics and programme planning.

Newly-inducted Beni Prasad landed Steel and another new face, Ajay Macken, got Ministry of State, independent and Sports.\

Kamal Nath was handed Urban development and Murali Deora was given Corporate Affairs, a portfolio he'll share with R.P.N Singh, who'll also keep oil and natural gas.
