Ramdev to make public assets details on Thursday: aide

With questions being raised over his huge assets, Baba Ramdev will make public on Thursday his personal financial details and also the assets of firms and trusts associated with him.

"We will come out with financial details of Patanjali Yogapeeth and all our companies by tomorrow (Thursday). We will upload it on our website also," Ramdev's close aide Balkrishna told reporters here.

"It will have financial details of Patanjali and other businesses and companies associated with it. It will have all financial details," Balkrishna said.

Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh had questioned how Ramdev had amassed so much of assets and demanded a probe into it.

Balkrishna tried to playdown Ramdev's threat to raise an 11,000-strong force that will be trained to retaliate if authorities crackdown on their anti-corruption campaign. "The sena will be for self-defence ... it is not to harm anybody but for defence of our own people," Balkrishna said.

Referring to the contention that RSS is backing Ramdev's agitation, Balkrishna said the yoga guru should not be associated with any group. "Attempts are being made to associate Patanjali with RSS, BJP and others. We are not associated with any group, political or religious, or in any way. We welcome everybody," he said.

Balkrishna said 18 cases have been registered by Delhi police against him and their associates under various sections.

He said Ramdev's health was stable and the fast will continue here and at different other places.

On BJP leader Sushama Swaraj's visit to Ramdev's ashram today, Balkrishna said her visit ‘was not a planned one.’

"She came on her own to meet the Baba and inquire about his health. If other ministers, from Congress and parties, also want to they can also come," he said.
