Ramdev charges baseless: Govt

The government on Sunday said that there is no truth in the charges being levelled by yoga guru Swami Ramdev that it was behind his detention at London’s Heathrow airport.

Swami Ramdev was detained at the airport for several hours upon his arrival on Friday and later accused the Indian government of having played a role in this. However, the ministry of external affiars spokesperson said on Sunday that it was for the UK Border Agency to respond to the reasons behind the detention.
The spokesperson further said that the Indian High Commission in London acted upon a request by members of the Indian community seeking assistance.
