Ramadorai appointed PM adviser
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) vice-chairman S. Ramadorai has been appointed adviser to the Prime Minister in the Prime Minister’s National Skill Development Council in the rank of Cabinet minister. The appointment was announced by the PMO on Monday. Mr Ramadorai has been “handpicked” by the PM to advise him to identify new areas for employability and promote skill development in such sectors and provide advice on remodelling existing skill development programmes run by various ministries.

2 injured in N-E ambush

Jan. 31: Two workers of the National Project Construction Corporation sustained injuries when the suspected National Liberation Front of Tripura militants ambushed their vehicle at remote Chhya Para under Kanchanpur sub-division of North Tripura district bordering Bangladesh. The police said the militants fired from across the border injuring the driver of the vehicle and the site manager.

‘Abducted jawans safe’

Jan. 31: Exactly a week after five jawans of Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) were abducted at Meherabeda in the state’s Narayanpur district, Maoist insurgents on Monday declared that the troopers were in their custody and safe.
