Rajasthan morcha to check Cong
With the ruling Congress and the Opposition BJP busy with their respective rathyatras in view of the upcoming Assembly elections, the left-wing parties as well the SP and the Janata Dal have intensified their efforts to strengthen the third front in Rajasthan.
The non-Congress non BJP parties formed “the Rajasthan Loktantrik Morcha”, a common front aspiring to take on the Congress and the BJP in the coming state Assembly elections, comprising CPI, CPI(M), Janata Dal(U) and JD(S) and Samajwadi Party.
The BSP and Dausa MP Kirori Lal Meena’s National Party were not part of the morcha. The morcha leaders are eyeing on a strong SC/ST, OBC and minority votebank in Rajasthan. The SC/ST in the state make about 29 per cent of population in the state and Muslims also have a sizeable number.
The idea to form an effective third force in Rajasthan was also appreciated by central leaders of the left-wing parties and both the Janata Dal parties. The constituents of the Loktantrik Morcha met here on Sunday in Jaipur and slammed the BJP and ruling Congress.
