Rajasthan BJP faces trouble
After a lull, the differences in the Rajasthan Bharatiya Janata Party resurfaced when most of the senior leaders skipped the core committee meeting which had been slated to formulate a strategy for the future.
The factionalism also affected the party’s youth wing, the Janata Yuva Morcha, and the newly-appointed Yuva Morcha president faced a revolt-like situation.
According to the party sources, the meeting of the core committee could not take place on its scheduled date of July 25 in Jaipur while most of the senior leaders kept themselves away from the meeting on some pretence. The party had constituted a six-member high-level core committee to run the party organisation in a more effective way. “It is not a formal official body. Since most of the members were out of station, the party had cancelled the meeting,” said a senior party leader in Jaipur. The committee was supposed to prepare Mission 2012 to garner more public support.
