Raja's former aide alleges threat to life; man detained
Former telecom minister A. Raja's ex-aide Aseevatham Achary on Thursday told a Delhi court hearing the 2G scam case that he had been given a life threat and the person who had threatened him was sitting in the room.
An individual is reported to have been nabbed later at court premises by the police.
Achary, who is the seventh prosecution witness in the case, has made damning revelations before the court claiming big corporates approached Raja when the former was with the environment ministry.
He said corporate executives used to meet Raja and his ex-private secretary R.K. Chandolia to pursue their cases with the environment ministry.
"The big construction projects cleared by A. Raja as minister of environment and forests included Unitech. DB Realty and other companies. Unitech’s Sanjay Chandra and DB Realty’s Vinod Goenka used to follow up. They used to meet Raja and Chandolia on regular basis," Achary said.
He was testifying as a witness before special CBI judge O.P. Saini
