‘Rahul must be PM candidate’

Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi here on Tuesday said that Rahul Gandhi should be projected as the prime ministerial candidate of the party to counter the BJP in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Asserting that Mr Gandhi was capable of leading the party from the front, Mr Gogoi told reporters: “Though, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh himself proposed Mr Gandhi’s name now, I have been saying this for past so many years.” Mr Gogoi futher asserted that dynamic leadership of Mr Gandhi would bring the party back to power for third time.
