Rahul asks youth to take part in politics
All-India Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday struck an emotional chord with Orissa students by a “heart-to-heart” interaction with them at Ravenshaw University in Cuttack and Berhampur University in Ganjam district.
The interaction was on issues ranging from the role of women and students in politics to threats to the country’s internal and external security and the economic journey of the country. Rahul, who arrived here in the morning on a two-day “personal-contact” tour to the state, left the students “mesmerised” by his “clear thought” on different subjects and “lucid expression.”
“We asked questions on subjects like Naxal menace, rural poverty and probity in politics. He explained us in very simple and lucid language. This was my first interaction with any politician. I was really impressed. Our fellow brothers and sisters were also left mesmerised by his candid talk and clear thought,” Asima Mohapatra, who asked a question on role of women in politics, said. Media persons were not allowed to cover Rahul’s interactions with the students.
