PUCL starts ‘Pheku’ site to ‘expose’ Modi
The People Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) has launched a website named “Pheku” to expose what it says are the truths and myths of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi. “The website will help people know the truth about Modi’s so-called Gujarat model,” said Radha Kishan, a senior PUCL functionary.
The BJP, meanwhile, has geared up to organise a mammoth rally to be addressed by Mr Modi on September 10 in Jaipur.
Addressing a press conference on Friday in Jaipur, PUCL office-bearers and activists said there were other BJP chief ministers like Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Raman Singh but they were different from Mr Modi.
The website has audio and video material related to Mr Modi. “We want to reveal his real face. Modi is a threat to democracy,” says Mohammed Hasan, a PUCL member, while talking to mediapersons.
The website has a short film on Gujarat and organisers have tried to make it interesting by putting photos and caricatures. PUCL officials have questioned the claim made by Mr Modi about development in Gujarat.
“We have more chief ministers who are able Prime Ministers, like Nitish Kumar, Ashok Gehlot, Sheila Dikshit, Pawan Kumar (Sikkim) and Bhupindra Singh Hooda,” said PUCL’s Radha Kishan.
