No FTA with EU, might be in early 2011
Brussels : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said on Friday that India and the European Union should avoid protectionism and open their markets for expanded trade. The 11th India-EU summit was held amid negotiations over problems coming in way of a free trade agreement between the two sides. The accord, which is being negotiated since 2007, is like to generate two-way trade worth 100 billion euros, up from the existing 70 billion.
The FTA, which was to be readied for inking during the Brussels summit, will now be wrapped up by early next year. —IANS
