Promotion for all students up to class 8

The State government has ordered mandatory promotion of all students from Class I to VIII at the annual examinations under the school board.

The government has issued the order, enforcing the implementation of the Right To Education Act in the State. The Act mandates promotions till standard VIII.

The RTE Act, along with sub rules framed by the State for its implementation, was introduced in the State in April 2011.

The latest order became necessary as annual examinations had been completed.Till now rules allowed failures up to 10 percent of students up to standard IV and 15 percent from standard V to VIII.
