Probe death of Kodiyeri’s father-in-law: Rajmohan Unnithan
Kannur: Congress leader Rajmohan Unnithan has demanded a judicial inquiry into the death of former Thalassery MLA, M.V. Rajagopal, father-in-law of CPM politburo member Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.
Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Unnithan said Rajagopal had died under mysterious circumstances. He was suffering from acute mental agony after Kodiyeri, who was appointed by the party as security guard for Rajagopal in view of threats from the RSS, had entrapped his daughter and married her.
Unnithan also alleged that there was a conspiracy in the marriage between Sumajan, gunman of the late CPM leader E.K.Nayanar and Kodiyeri’s sister-in-law. Prior to the marriage, Sumajan had resigned not only from personal staff of Nayanar but also from the police force.
Unnithan also alleged that there was something fishy about the marriage of Kodiyeri’s son, who was married off in haste the same day when the relatives discussed the marriage. Kodiyeri was afraid of some elements blocking the marriage. Unnithan said he was ready to provide more evidence in support of the allegations.
