Pranab Mukherjee to visit Chennai for votes

UPA Presidential candidate and Union finance minister Pranab Mukherjee will visit Chennai on June 30 to seek votes, DMK president M. Karunanidhi said Sunday.

“Pranab Mukherjee will visit Chennai on June 30 to meet the electors. He will seek votes from MPs and MLAs. Arrangements have been made for a reception,” he told reporters.

Asked if his party would organise a reception for Mr Mukherjee as it did for President Pratibha Patil, the DMK chief said besides a reception, a feast would be held.

He also said the chances of Mr Mukherjee becoming President were bright.
