Pranab: BJP changed Lokpal stand in 24 hrs

Union finance minister Pranab Mukherjee accused the BJP of being responsible for the Rajya Sabha’s failure to pass the Lokpal Bill by changing its stand within 24 hours.

Due to the change in the stand of the BJP within 24 hours, a strong Lokpal Bill could not be passed in the Rajya Sabha, he told reporters here. “If any party changes its stand within 24 hours, then the government cannot be held responsible for non-passage of the bill,” he said.
He claimed the Congress is the only party which has a long record of taking action against those found indulging in corruption.
